I stopped here for lunch and the place was really busy, but the drive thru and counter service. After a short wait I placed my order for ½ order of hot turkey and ½ order of hot beef so I could try both. This is one of the only places I have ever seen the ½ order available, it’s a great idea.
They brought my food to my table and the first thing I noticed was the turkey sandwich not only had mashed potatoes, but it also had stuffing, all generously coated in gravy. The Turkey was tender and flavorful. It was a good portion considered it was a ½ order.
The beef came with mashed potatoes and gravy. The beef looked dry, but it tasted good. The gravy was also good tasting. If I had to say anything, the mashed potatoes needed salt, which is an easy fix table side. Other than that, this was a great meal for the money and the ½ orders are really nice to see, I wish more places had that. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.
Dated decor inside but I found that part of the unique ambiance. Many choices on the menu but we stuck with the chicken sandwich, which was fine. Fun to listen to the kitchen staff yell back and forth- reminds me of the snl skit. Definitely will go back.
Every time I come here, the food is tasty and exactly what I expect. Today, I went for the fried shrimp dinner with two sides. The shrimp were big and perfect cooked with a nice crunch. The corn and mashed potatoes were a solid choice.
This is a great local place for a quick meal.
First time and last time, I had more butter than potatoe, and the huge bun with a sample of meat. My bun was soft meat was old a waste of money. I will never go back
Wow. Terrible. Messed up order, staff seemed incompetent and VERY unprofessional (I understand most were young kids, not their fault), regular cheeseburger patty is TINY, onion ring order has only a few in it. We sat far from the counter but could still hear the kitchen manager loudly saying orders to staff the whole time. *cringe*
3 customers got refunds that day, the cashier volunteered that info on our way out 🙈
Usually a decent place but this was our “half pound” of cheese balls for over $9. I went in and the lady said this is how they come. Waste of money.
tom thumb is great don’t get me wrong it’s the people that work there up at dairy queen i was waiting for atleast 10 minutes while one worker was doing drive thru another one was sitting on her phone! up the restaurant the people are good they don’t ignore you but the manager on duty is another thing they are so mean. i get it it’s your job but they yell at these people for no reason and i feel so bad for them. i saw one of the managers yell at this young lady and after she went to the bathroom with her eyes watering, Be nice to your workers!!
If you're a bit confused by the Tom Thumb sign on top of a Dairy Queen sign, don't let it stop you from visiting. You won't be disappointed by the great food, and oh yeah there's a bakery up front. Our chicken and fish dinners were delicious, complemented by home made rolls. More love is given to the food than the building, which shows an embarrassing lack of attention, but that didn't stop a steady stream of diners who know good food when they see it.
